Forsaken Combat Fighting Playstyles
Pick a job for the week: walk forward, hold space, or cash a read.
A playstyle is a promise you make to your hands. Forsaken Combat Fighting does not need twenty archetypes. It needs three that match the tools you actually have: walk forward (rush), hold space (wall), and cash a read (punish). The Players Hub explains why we will not dress those jobs in fake names. This page tells you how each job spends Block, Punch, and Charge.
Read combat basics first if those three words are still trivia.
Rush — walk forward on purpose
Rush is not mash. Mash is a mood. Rush is a decision to make the other person answer.
- Walk until their attack can reach you.
- Punch only when they whiff or after you Block.
- Charge at most a few times a session, and only on a line.
- Block the swing they throw because you walked in, not the sprint itself.
Rush fails when it becomes a greeting Charge. That failure is so common the how to beat page opens with it. If you main rush, print that page for your future opponents and then do not be the example.
Rush is the right week-one A job on the beginner tier list when your camera already works. It is the wrong job on a phone in portrait.
Wall — hold space without becoming a turtle
Wall is the job people think they are playing when they hold Block forever. Real wall play is distance.
- Stand where a committed swing can hit you and a poke cannot.
- Block the commitment. Drop guard between swings.
- Punch once. Take two steps back. That reset is the wall.
- Charge is an eject button from a pile-on, not a personality.
Wall fails when you never walk. Then you are a turtle, and the how-to-beat page already has your loss condition: someone walks around your camera until you get bored.
Wall is a good mobile job if you can swipe without sending the joystick to the moon. Practice that swipe on controls before you claim the style.
Punish — cash the read
Punish is Guest-language in its pure form. You are not there to entertain. You are there to get paid.
- Watch for a commitment.
- Block it.
- Punch the recovery.
- Do not chase the highlight.
Punish fails when you Block every twitch. Then you are a fisher, and delayed buttons will eat you. The how to get good week spends a whole day on empty Block so this job has a window to live in.
Punish is S on the main Tier List Hub and B for your first nights. Promote it when you can name early, late, or guess.
Mixing jobs without lying to yourself
You can rush for ten minutes to create windows, then punish for ten minutes to cash them. That is a plan. You cannot “flex all three” every exchange. That is a way to avoid reviewing a death sentence.
A useful pair of friends splits jobs: one rushes, one walls, then you swap. That is a lab. Two punish mains staring at each other is a staring contest that teaches less than it feels.
Mapping jobs to the rest of the wiki
- Need buttons? Controls.
- Need the loop? Combat basics.
- Need a week? How to get good.
- Need a first pick? Best fighters.
- Need official links for a friend who still launches horror? Links Hub and not Forsaken horror.
Playstyles will outlive a remake that changes a hat. If a remake adds a tool that is not Block, Punch, or Charge, assign it to the job it actually serves. A new dash that only starts fights is rush. A new shield that never drops is a turtle trap, not a wall. Be strict. The letters on the tier list only work if the jobs stay honest.
Pick one style for the next session before you press Play. Say it out loud. Then the death sentence has somewhere to land.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers players ask before they queue again.
Which playstyle is best?
Punish is the strongest in a clean duel. Rush teaches you to walk. Wall teaches you to reset. Best depends on the habit you are training.
Can I switch styles mid-fight?
You can change the next exchange. You should not change your review rule every death. Keep one style as the week's promise.
Is holding Block a playstyle?
No. That is turtling. Wall play drops guard between commitments and uses space.
What if my kit does not have Charge?
Assign whatever dash or anti-air it has to a job. If the tool only starts fights, it is rush. If it only saves you, it is wall.
